Mosque and Islamic Center

Muslims of Detroit!

The Muslim Center was incorporated in January, 1985 as a Mosque dedicated to the pure worship of ALLAH and to the inclusion of Muslims of all races, cultures, and ethnic groups.
We are a Mosque that also has an aggressive outreach ministry designed to interact and cooperate with members of the non-Muslim Community for the betterment of the whole society which we all share.
We, at The Muslim Center, identify with the leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, the son of the late leader, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Imam W. D. Mohammed is credited with turning an entire nation of Muslim toward the pure teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), to whom the Holy Qur’an was revealed over 1,400 years ago.
Our aim as Muslims is to “Remake the World”. We want to remake the world from the decadent state it is now in. We want to remove negative images of nudity, vulgarity, ignorance and devilish behavior from our society – and particularity from our youth.
To this end we wish to work with Christians, Jews and other religions, as well as people of good will, putting our common God first, above us all, to collectively stamp out the Devil, who is the avowed enemy of all mankind.
The Muslim Center is spiritually led by a Council of Imams consisting of three imams. These imams, under the direction of the Resident Imam, are charged with the spiritual and religious leadership of the Mosque.
They are responsible for Jumah Khutbahs, Taleem services, Dawah outreach, Islamic and Arabic classes, visiting the sick in hospitals, nursing homes/private homes, incarcerated Muslims and other duties as needed.
